Prenatal care demand and birthweight production of black mothers

Article Abstract:

Newborn infants' health are measured against prenatal care visits and a visit-times delay interaction factor in an attempt to define interventions for minimizing low birthweight cases. Black women under Medicaid coverage start care programs earlier but make fewer visits. This contradictory result is caused by the refusal of physicians to accept Medicaid patients due to low reimbursement fees, forcing women to consider public clinics that have limited capacity.
