Producing knowledge in economic development through the management of information

Article Abstract:

The success of the operations of economic development offices depends a lot on how information is collected, stored, accessed and communicated. Because of its ability to speed up and enhance the efficieny of the information management process, computer technology is a very useful tool for economic development offices. Software such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases, contact management programs and graphics programs should be integrated with on-line information services and desktop publishing to maximize computer technology. It is also important to make computer systems user-friendly.
