Deere and Co (John Deere) SVP for North American Agricultural Marketing R.W. 'Bud' Porter has been chosen as Agri-Marketer of the Year for 2000 by the National Agri Marketing Assn, the first for the new millennium. Porter, who joined John Deere in 1964, is credited for leading the company's most extensive product launch in 1999 as well as its transition into a fully customer-oriented company. Porter is also credited for efforts in helping John Deere dealers reduce their inventory.

Tractor campaign breaks the mold

Cramer-Krasselt Co's advertising campaign for Racine, WI-based Case Corp's MX Series Magnum Tractor did more than introduce the firm's new tractor, it launched the firm's new identity. The Milwaukee, WI-based advertising agency's ad featured three unusual items in a promotion for tractors, a cookie cutter, handcuffs and barbed wires. The items, utilized in a tease campaign for the product, came to symbolize not only a new product but an entirely novel way of doing business.

New Holland tractor takes center stage at Ag-Earth celebration
Article Abstract:
New Holland TM tractors powered by biodiesel fuel derived from soybeans were one of the most popular exhibits during the staging of the Ag-Earth Celebration at the National Mall in Washington DC. The event is aimed at raising the public's awareness of conservation and the protection of the environment in the agricultural sector. New Holland participates in the event in order to highlight its support of the endeavor and to promote its products as well.
