Article Abstract:
The work of learning disability nurses in the UK in the late 1990s vindicates the 1993 decision that learning disability nurses should continue to have a separate registration from mainstream nurses. Experts have debated the role of learning disability nurses since the 1970's, when the policy of normalization for the learning disabled first gained acceptance. However, the effective work of these nurses in inter-professional co-operation, and in promoting user involvement with service planning, has justified their continuing existence and their separate professional registration.

Scientific Word v.1.0
Article Abstract:
An evaluation of the Scientific Word software produced by TCI Software Research Inc is presented. The program runs under DOS Windows and is targeted at those who use mathematical or scientific notation in their writings. The software is compatible with TeX language, which is commonly used in preparing mathematical manuscripts. Scientific Word lacks some of features common to word processing software such as global search-and-replace macros, and it is not based on the what-you-see-is-what-you-get philosophy.
