Article Abstract:

The average net percent of owners raising prices for the first eight months of the year was zero and the frequency of planned price hike was steady at a seasonally adjusted net 19 percent of all firms. There was no pricing power in production and distribution except in agriculture.

Article Abstract:

The index of small business optimism based on ten survey indicators for the period January 1986 to December 2003 was studied which showed that it gained 1.6 points in December. The declines were very small while the components experiencing gains showed substantial increases.
