Sovereign credit spreads and the composition of the government budget

Article Abstract:

The studies investigated the relationship between sovereign credit spreads and the composition of the government budget. The result was that governments that invest more and spend less on consumption have significantly lower sovereign credit spreads. The report stated that governments with more tax receipts are less likely to have liquidity problems to finance their debt charges.

Productivity, investment, and current accounts: reassessing the evidence

Article Abstract:

The most widely accepted explanation for the inverse association between private investments and current accounts rests on data for manufactures through 1990. The role of measurement errors is examined and the treatment of the manufacturing sector as representative of the whole economy is focused on.

Deindustrialization and Changes in Manufacturing Trade: Factor Content Calculations for 1978-1995

Article Abstract:

Manufacturing trade expansion is estimated to have contributed very substantially to deindustrialization. The estimates of effects of changes in manufacturing trade on manufacturing employment based on factor content analysis are discussed with reference to OECD countries.
