Strategy foresight: the future of strategy research

Article Abstract:

Strategic management may be internally focused at directing the organization to achieve its strategic goals even if it is clearly externally focused. Strategic thinking may be defined as either a study of strategic content management or the processes of formulating strategy. The majority of organizations are currently developing the process of formulating the strategy content, while in the early 1980s, most were focused on the content of their strategies.

Knowledge-based strategy is the use by corporations of their knowledge advantages to further their competitive advantage over competitors. This particular mode of managing people and resources has a strategic focus and is aimed at creating wealth for the corporation. For wealth to be created, corporations must focus on their core competencies and develop future core competencies.
