The impossibility of a perfectly competitive labour market

Article Abstract:

The concept of a perfectly competitive labor market is shown to be logically impossible using the institutional theory of transaction costs. Assumptions of the competitive labor market model are demonstrated to be internally contradictory.

The results of the study conducted to know if the hours of work and employment components of labour in the US are more or less flexible are explained. The vector auto regression (VAR) is used to analyze the findings of the studies.
