The labour market in association football: who gets transferred and for how much?

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze a hedonic equation characterizing the determination of the price structure in the transfer market for professional football players in the English leagues. Several attributes which influence the probability of transfer or the transfer fee were examined. Results indicated that participation in the transfer market for football players is not random, and that some players are more likely to be transferred than others.
