The new institutionalisms: avenues of collaboration

Article Abstract:

Economic analysts tend to work together in institutions rather than as individuals. A comparison of institution types, rational-action neoinstitutionalism, social-constructionist neoinstitutionalism and mediated-conflict neoinstitutionalism, is made. Social and political scientists should work with economists to solve issues which cannot be solved from an individual viewpoint.

The new institutional analysis of politics

Article Abstract:

Economic institutions greatly influence political analysis. Rules and regulations restricting the practices of individual political scholars should be revised to encourage individual thinking. Institutions governed by restrictive regulations are inefficient in economic terms.
