The role of debt and bankruptcy statutes in facilitating tacit collusion

Article Abstract:

The quantity decisions of leveraged duopolists which are likely to result to bankruptcy were examined. Based on past evidenced, it was assumed that deciding whether to file for bankruptcy under Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 depends on the efficiency of the firm compared to its rivals. It was therefore concluded that a company must examine how its financial obligations affect its product market decisions when choosing the best level of investment.

Maintenance contracts for leased goods: their role in creating brand loyalty

Article Abstract:

Research investigating techniques of maintaining customers' loyalty in the leasing industry is presented. Particular attention is given to maintenance contracts which allow customers who renew their contracts lower maintenance fees. Rental and sales costs and profits are compared.

The impact of riverboat casinos on the demand for gambling at casino resorts: a theoretical and empirical investigation

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the level of demand of casino resorts as a result of experiencing riverboat casinos in the United States are discussed. Particular attention is given to empirical and theoretical research applied to Nevada and Las Vegas.
