Trade credit and customer relationships

Article Abstract:

The various ways of trade credit being used by the corporate world as a strategic tool to develop a relation with the customer and to accommodate the customers demand is presented. The results suggest that the trade credit granting has a set of subtle and complex motivations over and above those predicted by standard theory.

Bank borrowing constraints and the demand for trade credit: evidence from panel data

An experimental probe of the interaction of monetary policy, credit market conditions and corporate financing over the business cycle is given. Bank borrowing restraints, trade credit, credit management, etc. are also explained.

The existent theory on trade credit extension is s upported using empirical results. The way in which credit may be made use of as a strategic tool which provides support to the aims of corporates is discussed.
