Turn workplace training into a competitive advantage

Article Abstract:

The Lenawee Training and Education Consortium (LTEC) serves as a potent workforce development agent. Much of the success of the LTEC stems from its ability to quickly adapt its training program to the specific needs of a certain industry. This is done with the help of public schools and colleges, from programs developed by the LTEC. Another facet of LTEC's success is its relationship-building with industry representatives, which relies on services that can be delivered.

A public policy analysis of gaming industry development: a Mississippi case study

Article Abstract:

The outcome of public policy on the development of the gaming industry depends on social, political and administrative factors. A case study on casino development in Vicksburg, MS, is presented to demonstrate this theory. The real life case was in accordance with the theory. The Vicksburg case was instrumental in changing the legislative and administrative functions of the state concerning gaming.

Strategies to help gaming operators maintain their market position is examined due to competitiveness in the gaming industry. The competitive challenges faced by gaming managers and the role of marketing are discussed. Competitive analysis and strategic marketing position may assist casino managers in their drive toward economic development.
