Wage formation, investment and growth in The Netherlands in the postwar period: a cross-section analysis

Article Abstract:

An examination of the economic growth of the Netherlands decades after the Second World War is made based on wage formation and investment level data during the said period. Although some experts contend that the exceptionally high growth rates of investments and wages are the result of a relatively uniform distribution of wages across sectors of industry, the Netherlands' experience showed that, in most of the periods studied, either investment does not rely on profits or the sectoral differences in wages exceed those in labor productivity.
