What have we learned from emissions trading experiments?

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to review laboratory research that has analyzed the effectiveness of emissions trading programs and the role of alternative instruments and organizations. The influence of allowing companies to support inventories of permits and the extent to which market power can be utilized in emissions trading were also examined. Results showed that a good emissions trading scheme supports public information, secure trading associated with future permits, and some type of banking activity.

An econometric analysis of trends in research joint venture activity

Article Abstract:

According to Edith Penrose, firms' preference for research joint ventures (RJVs) is for acquiring access to resources that can help them achieve and sustain a competitive advantage. By proposing an econometric model, a study on learning the intentions of firms for their preference for RJVs and the decline in the number of RJVs as according to the Department of Justice is presented.
