A 'zing' of truth

Article Abstract:

The philosophy of science is generally of little help to scientific research, partly because of continuously changing attitudes towards success in scientific theory. Scientists may search for objective reality, but objective progress is difficult to prove. Albert Einstein was the first physicist to accept that some principles can be assumed rather than deduced from a known theory. The wider understanding of science is not helped by such an approach, however, as there is no specified scientific method from which to base scientific study upon.

Something from nothing; mass could be created from massless particles

Article Abstract:

The mass of an object is a fundamental concept in physics, as is the origins of mass. There are four forces in nature; gravity, strong and weak forces and electromagnetism. Gravity is recognised as the weakest force. Three Nobel Prize winning scientists discovered the Higgs mechanism to try and measure mass, although it has not been identified in a laboratory. The Superconducting Super Collider under construction may identify this mechanism.
