Arcane and disabling

Article Abstract:

Undergraduate students in the UK should be encouraged to write in plain English in order to improve their communication skills and so enhance their employment prospects. Students often write in a complex, academic language in order to impress, but some lecturers recognise that students who write in plain English are just as intelligent as those who adopt an academic style. The Dearing committee will probably call for degree courses to incorporate training in communication skills so as to meet employment needs.
