Arts of gold

Article Abstract:

The idea that culture could not, or should not, have to compete in the marketplace that prevailed in the United Kingdom until the late 1970s has given way to the idea of culture as a commodity. However, although the Labour government is promoting the cultural economy, there are no precise figures for the number of people employed in the cultural industries, or for their combined turnover. The National Lottery has prompted a huge expansion of the cultural infrastructure, with around 1.4 billion pounds sterling having been committed to capital projects by Feb. 1997.

Inventories under joint production: an empirical analysis of petroleum refining

Article Abstract:

An empirical study on the determinants of inventory investment under joint production, current production and stock holding, conveyed that multiproduct interactions may impact short-run price and inventory forces. The changeability of production in relation to sales in petroleum refining varies by product type. The presence of substantial production complementaries and substituion relationships in production may account for these changes. It was established that inventory levels notably impact short-run marginal costs.

Management of postoperative atrial fibrillation

Article Abstract:

Postoperative atrial fibrillation is a common dysrhythmia complication of heart surgery. The condition carries risks of thromboembolism and stroke. It might prolong hospitalization and might induce hemodynamic compromise. Very individualized management and prevention are important. Several potential etiologies exist. Antidysrhythmic drugs, atrial fibrillation, and beta-blockers are all things that might be used.
