Big shake-up and new v-c could take Oxford from ivy-clad to Ivy League

Article Abstract:

Oxford University could shed its old-fashioned image and become more like an Ivy League university following a major review of its shape and size and the appointment of John Hood, an entrepreneurial vice-chancellor from New Zealand. The appointment of Hood, who would become the first outsider to head Oxford for 900 years if he receives approval from the congregation, comes as the university contemplates reducing its number of undergraduates in favour of postgraduates, reforming its collegiate structure and centralising its admissions system.
