Burning up with lost soles to pay off the debt of still being alive

Article Abstract:

Ben Edwards took part in the 150-mile Marathon des Sables race across the desert in southern Morocco in order to raise UKPd100,000 for charity. Edwards, a 32-year-old senior lecturer in sports and exercise science at Liverpool John Moores University, estimates that, as a result of brushes with cancer that he has suffered, that he has received UKPd2.5 mil worth of medical treatment and his aim is to raise that much for charities. Previous efforts, such as running the London Marathon seven times, have seen him raise UKPd2 mil.

Research Project of the Year

Article Abstract:

The Times Higher Education Supplement gave its Research Project of the Year award for 2005 to the National Cancer Research Institute's Informatics Initiative. The initiative aims to provide a computer platform for the bringing together of the massive amount of data being generated around the world by cancer researchers, thereby offering the means for science to progress.

Young put off cancer study
