Citations game is a quick fix but unlikely to deliver

Article Abstract:

The research assessment exercise (RAE) to evaluate research quality involves the subject-based peer reviews and judgments of scientific research of a university department. But the metrics-based system expected to replace the RAE in 2008 will be based on quantitative indicators including research grant income and an inadequate and ineffective bibliometric indicator of quality, which involves citation reports of scientific work.

Behind freedom's veil, they plot for revolution

Article Abstract:

The Government made moves to ban Hizb ut-Tahrir following the 7/7 terrorist attacks and this has has prompted some to defend the group, which is ostensibly non-violent. Authors argues that the group is dangerous and has a vision of overthrowing governments in the Muslim world, establish a caliphate and wage johaf on other nations.

Ethos may be a foe to freedom

Article Abstract:

Eminent academicians believe that the restrictions imposed by churches on the expression of views by the staff at their academic institutions curb their freedom. In order to prevent undermining of the church ethos these restrictions are imposed by the church and are opposed outrageously by the students and the staff.
