Democracy and its global roots

Article Abstract:

The need to take a broader view of democracy beyond the freedom of elections and ballots in terms of public reasoning is emphasized. The historical and global roots of democracy in terms of practice of voting and elections are attributed to the West but in terms of public reasoning, they are attributed to the intellectual history of the non-Western societies.

American internationalism: Is democracy the best solution?

Article Abstract:

The study examines the wisdom of attempts to promote democracy in areas of the world, such as the greater Near East, which has no experience with it. The study also examines whether the democracy is the best solution or if it can be just as dangerous as less desirable form of governance.

Nationalism and democracy: an American paradox

Article Abstract:

The rejection of nationalism as defined by the firm believes in the supremacy of U.S. democratic ideals, has created a dual paradox in the American psyche. According to this nationalism, the U.S. policy makers fail to capture its fame abroad.
