Discover the darkness at the heart of Europe

Article Abstract:

The Centre for Historical Research and Documentation on War and Contemporary Society is commence research in an attempt to document the "participation" of the Belgian state and its local administrators, police and justice system in the deportation of Jews during WWII. The centre is due to commence the work, which has been commissioned by the Belgian government, in December 2003, with a report not expected for two years. It is expected that if wide-scale participation is discovered to have taken place, then the Belgian government will make some sort of statement.

Understanding built into walls and windows

Article Abstract:

An examination of the work done by Stirling University's Dementia Services Development Centre (SUDSDC), which is working from the floor up - starting with the design of buildings - to improve the lives of those suffering from dementia. According to Mary Marshall, director of the SUDSDC, the aim behind everything that the centre does is to make things easily understandable for those suffering drom some form of dementia.
