Ideal way to lighten the load

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to the argument that e-learning provides a solution for the growing educational demands of the Asian market are examined. The number of students in Asia is forecast to grow to 87 mil by 2020, vs 17 mil in 1995, according to IDP Education Australia. India is expected to begin struggling to meet demand for university places by 2015, when demand is expected to reach nine million university places, while China is expected to be unable to meet estimated demand for 20 mil university places by 2020.

Learn-to live longer

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the suggestion that the level of education a person has directly correlates with their life expectancy. It is argued that it is actually position within the social hierarchy and the level of direct control over life and work that affects a person's lifespan, rather than their level of education.

Developing countries 'cannot reverse brain drain', ACU told

Article Abstract:

South Africa's Education Minister, Naledi Pandor, has said that developing countries should accept that they can not reverse the brain drain and should concentrate on making use of their academics in overseas universities. Ms Pandor was speaking to the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
