Induction: A collective endeavor of learning, teaching and leading

Article Abstract:

Mentoring or induction programs are introduced by several countries aiming to help newly qualified teachers (NQTs) continue to learn on the job with support. A review of rationales for induction programs, needs of the NQTs during the induction year, and a comparison of key features of mandated induction programs in England, Wales, and Scotland is provided along with an emphasis on induction as a path for opportunities for all teachers to learn and lead.

The impact of an on online learning program on teaching and learning strategies

Article Abstract:

The impact of introducing information and communication technology on learning and teaching in the classroom is evaluated, more specifically, the online learning program of Scottish Common Higher Open Learning and Access Resources (SCHOLAR). Implications of blending traditional classroom teaching with online student learning are also discussed.

Teaching teachers to build equitable classrooms

Article Abstract:

A systematic approach for restructuring the classroom for the establishment and maintenance of an equitable environment is discussed. Teachers have to work towards equal-status and a balanced interaction among students in small learning groups in order to build equitable classrooms.
