The Apple IIc ($995) is the latest member of the Apple II family. It has the most commonly desired features, such as a disk drive, built-in. Mindset ($1,099) is an IBM-compatible microcomputer. Educationally, the Mindset has great graphics potential. Take 1 ($59.95) and Blazing Paddles (49.95) are graphics development programs. Take 1 is an animation development package and Blazing Paddles is a flexible color graphics program for stationary images. The included screen display shows a screen from the Blazing Paddles program.

Electronic Teaching: Touch Screen Technology

Article Abstract:

The International Institute of Applied Technology distributes an infrared touch-activated video screen for $1595. New England Technology Group distributes a mylar-plastic touch-activated screen for $2500. The mylar screen has 200 times more touch coordinates than the infrared screen. Both screens can easily be used in an educational setting where keyboard entry is much too slow, or the lesson must be presented and reacted to visually.
