Investors want spin-off delay

Venture capitalists have warned university entrepreneurs that they should wait for as long as a decade before considering spinning off companies, far longer than is currently common practice. Universities should keep these fledgling companies under "incubation" for up to 10 years, rather than severing ties after only one or two years, if they are to attract the best investment and top-quality managers.

Lifting of fees cap may lead to bankruptcy
Article Abstract:
Universities could face bankruptcy if the government removes the tuition fees cap as they have little idea of how much their degrees are worth or how much they cost to teach. This could result in universities pricing themselves out of the market, according to research by Helen Carasso, Oxford University's acting director of undergraduate admissions.
