Land of dope and glory

Article Abstract:

There are widespread doubts over the effectiveness of the UK Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and many calls for the act to be reviewed. The Police Foundation has formed a committee of inquiry, and the government is expected to take a close interest in its findings in spite of the government's current commitment to an anti-drugs policy. Commission member professor Alan Maynard says that the government cannot seek to control drug supply without taking account of demand for drugs. He believes the inquiry may change social understanding and lead to more flexible policy-making.

To Google or not to Google

An analysis of Google's Print and Scholar initiatives.
