Loaves, fishes and cereal yields

Article Abstract:

There is an alarmist view that the world's population is growing faster than food production. The population is likely to rise by over 90 million people annually for the next two decades. However, annual world cereal yields will probably continue to rise by around 45 kg per hectare as they have since the late 1950s. The population has been growing faster than cereal output since 1984.
