Article Abstract:

'Interest Rates: The Impact on Sciety and the Individual' is a two part filmstrip which uses photographs, graphics, and cartoons to explore the concept of interest rates, as well as the role of the Federal Reserve. Each part can stand alone, or the units can be used together. Complex topics and serious issues are presented for discussions. The filmstrip is recommended as a useful educational aid.

People of America's Western Frontier

Article Abstract:

People of America's Western Frontier is a filmstrip by National Geographic which tries to separate fact from myth concerning western expansion in the nineteenth century. It is a set of three filmstrips; 'Opportunity and Fortune'; 'Frontier Justice: Lawmen and Outlaws'; and the Indian Resistance. Each filmstrip lasts eighteen minutes; the set costs $79.99.

'Will They Survive?' is a color filmstrip which explores the problem of the extinction of various animal species. As one species a day is currently becoming extinct, questions must be raised regarding the role of humans in this area. The filmstrip is recommended for use in the study of ecology, nature, and the effect of humans on the environment.
