Microzine

Article Abstract:

Microzine is a bimonthly disk-based magazine. The contents of Volume 1, Number 2 contains a Twistaplot story adventure game called Northwoods Adventure; Ride the Wind, a simulated hot-air balloon race; a vocabulary building game called Word Ladder and Melody Maker, a music synthesizer. Issue Three contains an interactive Microzine Mystery; Tag, a chase game requiring manual keyboard dexterity; a data base which lists 200 fiction books and Amazing Robot, a miniature LOGO. Issue Four contains a Twistaplot story; an interactive interview with computer game designer, Tom Snyder; a data base program and a Pac-Man type game. In Issue Five is another Twistaplot, a simple word and picture processor; Amazing Robot II which gives a program-controlled robot the ability to draw graphics, and a game of territorial capture. These programs are fun, easy to use and offer different difficulty levels. The magazine's cost is $39.95 for each issue or $149 for one year. It runs on the Apple II or IIe.

WordStar

Article Abstract:

WordStar is a top-of-the-line word processor that comes with a disk, a user's manual and a reference card. An installation program that configures WordStar to particular systems is included on the disk. WordStar runs under the CP-M operating system and has a main menu for primary functions. Four levels of help menus can be used as necessary. This powerful program contains more than 100 commands which are not ambiguous. Although this long list of commands is difficult to learn, the user need only learn a few commands at a time to use the program. WordStar is an overall excellent product which provides great flexibility along with ease of use. Its cost is $495.00, and it runs on any computer that can run the CP-M operating system.
