Practice makes perfect?

Article Abstract:

There has been calls for training courses for nurses to be changed and include more instruction on practical skills. Some observers have suggested the Project 2000 course is not giving the new nurses sufficient practical skills. A new type of training course is starting in Sept 2000. The government is trying to improve nurse recruitment by increasing pay and using a 5 million pounds sterling grant to help get trained nurses back into the profession. It is estimated there are 15,000 too few nurses although the number of nurses being trained increased by 24% in 1999-2000.
