Wider access threat to autonomy

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) plans to change its system for entrance points to universities to encourage students with vocational qualifications. UCAS also foresees possible financial rewards for universities which admit students with a wider range of qualifications. The Government has promised to give the same status to academic and vocational entrance for higher education. Universities are concerned that they could lose their right to decide which students to admit.
