Quiet space for retreat if the spirit takes you

Article Abstract:

An increasing number of universities in the U.K. are providing staff and students with nondenominational contemplative spaces that welcome people of all faiths. The critics are however questioning that whether contemplative spaces are a sign of growing secularization on campus or simply a way to promote cooperation between people of different faiths.

London Met opens largest lab in Europe

Article Abstract:

London Metropolitan University has opened a new GBP 30 million Science Centre which combines futuristic technology and old-fashioned one-to-one contact between students and academics. At the heart of the centre is the SuperLab, which is Europe's largest laboratory, with room for 270 students.

Tunnels

Article Abstract:

A number of universities in the United Kingdom have subterranean passageways meandering under them, usually as relics from their early years. Examples are provided of a number of universities with tunnels along with a brief explanation of how they came to be there.
