Radical reforms in firing line

Article Abstract:

The recommendations contained in the 'A Framework for Transformation' report from South Africa's National Commission on Higher Education will make extensive changes to the country's higher education system. Recommendations include a new funding system, a single higher education sector made up of 30-40 universities and polytechnics and a higher education quality council. However, some observers feel that the reforms still do not go far enough.
