Scrapheap still looms for those who hit 65

Article Abstract:

Academics whose careers are cut short by retirement at 65 years of age even if they are healthy and willing to work are displeased with their perceived discrimination due to age. The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 has enabled people beyond 65 to apply for jobs and be considered on par with younger colleagues, but its efficacy in practice is doubtful, even as younger academics fear that the legislation would block their career prospects.

Redwood: set all students a minimum entry hurdle
