See me, hear me, peel me

Article Abstract:

The Absolute Banana Theatre Company and the Cambridge Mummers are both student theatre groups but their approach is very different. The Cambridge Mummers is well-established, dating from the early 1900s, and has produced famous names including Emma Thompson, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. However, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival it is performing a play by an unknown student in a bid to move away from the shadow of these famous people. The Absolute Bananas is relatively unknown and is less well-financed, but is drawing more audiences thanks to its more commercial choice of play - Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest'.
