Term limits for Congress: arguments pro and con

Article Abstract:

The prevalence of high reelection rates among US congressional incumbents refueled attempts at implementing term limits for House members. People who want term limits favor ending automatic reelection while others believe that it is an incorrect remedy in handling the real problems within the congressional election system.

Time limits for welfare?

Article Abstract:

US Pres Bill Clinton, like most Democrats, wants to encourage welfare recipients to work. However, his strategy may not be successful since it will result in higher taxes. The welfare system must be kept intact until a more viable alternative can be worked out.

Issues concerning the economic benefits brought to consumers by free trade economic policies in the United States are discussed. Particular attention is given to the moral character of free trade and to the fact that free trade actually increases incomes.
