The adult-only playground

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the way in which London is becoming more of a "fairground" for infantalised adults, but is simultaneously becoming less of a playground for children, who are finding their urban spaces increasingly restricted. It is argued that the image of children in the modern psyche has changed and that while a number of the restrictions placed on children are there for their own protection, some of them are there to make sure that the children themselves behave and do not cause any trouble.

...fear for the treatment of laboratory animals

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the abuse suffered by animals in the name of scientific research and the so-called "ethics committees" that are supposed to monitor the treatment of animals in labs. It is argued that animal experimentation is now such a large industry that the Government is too eager to work with biotech companies and is, in fact, introducing legislation that would make it illegal for people to even hand out leaflets that criticise the actions of animal research organisations.
