The very model of a merger

Article Abstract:

Many challenges had to be addressed when Loughborough College of Art and Design, a teaching monotechnic with a strong emphasis on specialist areas of art and design, became a school of Loughborough University, England, in 1998. The college was determined to retain a clear identity, as it did not require the merger for financial or academic reasons. The merger is regarded by both institutions as having created valuable opportunities for combining creativity, technical expertise and facilities.

There is British interest in degree programs from foreign universities that are delivered in institutions in Malaysia. There is competition from universities from Australi, the US and Canada. The US holds 75% of the Thai market. UK institutions see opportunities for growth in Thailand, while the Thai government is fostering links with the UK to help educational reforms.
