The implication of Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 that makes compulsory for every adult to undergo a check by the Criminal Records Bureau for working with or providing voluntary help to under-18s has given birth to a climate of suspicion. This could prove as disastrous for primary education and voluntary groups. It breaks the trust of workers, which is highly essential for these groups to carry out their activities with young people.
