Tigers, tigers spurning rights

Article Abstract:

East Asian government have a different view of democracy than the US, and this has emerged in trade disputes involving both parties. There is an emphasis on shared values in East Asia, and an authoritarian approach to dissent in order to promote economic growth. Political challenges to this approach, which can be described as developmental authoritarianism, are emerging in East Asia, in line with the progress of economic devlopment in the region.

Jacques Ranciere, the political philosopher of France reveals the anarchical nature of democracy and criticizes the resistance to democracy from the elite classes. According to him, in democracy, everybody can legitimately govern due to the existence of dissemination of power.
