Article Abstract:

An analysis of the concept of brainwashing and the extent to which brainwashing techniques are used in modern society by the media and politicians. It is argued that it is possible to minimise the brainwashing effect that the media and politicians exert and that the best defence against brainwashing is to make sure that our traditions of scepticism, intellectual tolerance, liberal freedoms and a respect for teaching are never taken away.
