Why won't the public put their faith in scientists?

Article Abstract:

An analysis of why many people don't trust the opinions of scientists, despite the fact that, for the most part, the claims made by the majority of scientists are relatively easy to verify. It is contended that part of the problem researchers face is that they can't always provide a definitive answer to a question, which makes them appear vague and untrustworthy, rather than merely cautious with their opinions.
