Key code team deny secrecy

Article Abstract:

Researchers at the Royal Holloway College in London, England, claim their work on the key escrow system is not secret and is not being undertaken for the Government. Some claim government agencies could use the system to monitor private electronic mail, faxes and telephone conversation, but the college claims to be developing the security system in conjunction with telecommunications firms GPT and Vodafone for digital mobile telephones. Some feel the public should become involved in debating the most appropriate type of escrow system.
