You say 'terrorist', I say God-fearing Muslim

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the perception of the United States and US foreign policy in the Middle East and the perception of Islam in the US. It is argued that no matter what America's proclaimed intentions in the Middle East, its actions are regarded as those of an aggressor and that it would make sense for the United Kingdom to base its strategic evaluations of the Middle East region on a domestic assessment of the situation rather than on the polemic-based policies coming from the US.

The ethics of George Bush: good, bad or irrelevant?

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the personal ethics of George W. Bush. It is argued that Bush's ethics are of importance as he is supposedly the leader of the United States and, as the only global superpower, the US has a moral responsibility to provide leadership to the world and act as a good global citizen. Examples of the ways in which the US under Bush has failed in this responsibility are examined.

Will new world order embetter us?

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to the verbal gaffes of US president George W. Bush are examined from a linguistic point of view. It is argued that while many of Bush's mistakes may have a simple explanation, they may also indicate that he lacks empathetic thinking while speaking, preventing him from identifying with the point of view of people other than himself.
