Alberta restructures its electricity market

Article Abstract:

Alberta, Canada, took another step toward deregulation in the electric power industry by passing the Electric Utility Act of 1995. The law initially sets up a competitive structure for the industry, and allows regulators to protect customers from high prices in certain market areas.
