The statistical data of the sales of flat panel displays in the year 2005, the demand for these products, and forecast for these products for the year 2006, manufactured by Korean makers, are discussed. Amidst the sales volume issue, certain other issues which affect the marketing are prices and introduction of new rules in some nations, such as the regulation introduced in the United States, which calls for incorporation of a digital tuner.

The flat panel displays in Japan are seeing declining sales, and analysts are anticipating that unless, sales of liquid crystal displays for which this product is most use, increase, the decline process cannot be reversed. Also, the costs involved for buying materials for making these FPDs need to cutback.
