COFDM modulation adds stability to relay broadcasting applications

Article Abstract:

NEC Corp will display its latest digital microwave link system at the NAB '99 trade show. The microwave system includes a 4:2:2 profile @ main level, an MPEG-2 codec and a COFDM modulator. Both the codec and modulator offer excellent broadcasting quality in a portable unit. The modulator uses differential quadrature phase shift keying for every carrier modulation. The systems also allows for a carrier spacing of 15 KHz for greater margin against phase noise than other terrestrial systems.
