Dolby Laboratories has recently unveiled Dolby High Dynamic Range (HDR) Technologies. Dolby HDR uses LED backlights on LCD TVs to create images with higher dynamic range and higher contrast ratio. Other features of the new technology, its benefits, and its differences with cold cathode fluorescent lamp displays are discussed.
